Stephanie Casenza







Stephanie has spent her career helping to advance the mission and vision of many organizations.  Moving easily between the business and not-for-profit worlds, she has served in management positions for San Diego State University, Sharp Healthcare, the San Diego Blood Bank, Alliance Healthcare Foundation and the San Diego Performing Arts League, where she was the executive director. She returned to San Diego State, her alma mater, in 2006 to help launch the university’s first comprehensive fund-raising campaign and was quickly promoted to associate vice president for University Relations and Development, overseeing a multidisciplinary team of 18.

A life-long learner, Stephanie earned her master's degree in business from the University of San Diego, majoring in executive leadership and completed her undergraduate studies in journalism and political science at San Diego State University.  Over the years she has taken courses in marketing from University of California Extension, studied conflict resolution at the San Diego Mediation Center, and earned a certificate in fundraising through the University of Indiana's Center for Philanthropy.  Stephanie further honed her management and leadership skills through the Fieldstone Foundation's Executive Learning Group and the LEAD San Diego program.  

As a way of giving back to the community and her profession, Stephanie has taught at San Diego State University, UCSD Extension, and Nonprofit Management Solutions. She also has served on the boards of directors for numerous organizations, including Girl Scouts, San Diego Repertory Theatre, LEAD San Diego, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Downtown San Diego Partnership, and Social Advocates for Youth, Public Relations Society of America and the San Diego Press Club.

Stephanie’s work has been recognized by numerous organizations.  In addition, the Public Relations Society of America, San Diego Chapter, which honored her as Professional of the Year (1997) and for her volunteer work with the Eva Irving Community Service Award (2001). She holds the universal accreditation in public relations (APR) from PRSA.
